West Wing Week 12/13/13 or, “Madiba, Farewell”

Welcome to the West Wing Week, your guide to everything that’s happening at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and far beyond. This week, the Vice President wrapped up a six-day diplomatic mission to Japan, China and the Republic of Korea, while the President spoke on achieving peace in the Middle East at the Saban Forum, honored and lit the National Christmas Tree and traveled to Johannesburg to honor the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela. That’s December 6 to December 12 or “Madiba, Farewell.”


West Wing Week 11/15/13 or, “We Will Stand By Your Side”

Welcome to the West Wing Week, your guide to everything that’s happening at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and beyond. This week, the First and Second Families honored Veterans Day, the President traveled to New Orleans and to Cleveland to speak on the importance of infrastructure to job creation, signed the EpiPen Law, discussed immigration reform with Faith Leaders and attended the 5th Annual Tribal Nations Conference. That’s November 8th to November 14th or “We Will Stand By Your Side.”

West Wing Week: 06/07/13 or “Cooler at Night”

This week, the President urged Congress not to let student loan rates double and to confirm three judges for the federal appeals court in Washington, held bilateral meetings with the NATO Secretary-General and the President of Chile, kicked off a National Conference on Mental Health, honored the Super Bowl champions, and announced a major new initiative called ConnectED, while the Vice President wrapped up a weeklong trip to South America.

West Wing Week: 05/24/13 or “Justice for Everybody”

This week, the President continued his Jobs and Opportunity tour, this time highlighting bold new efforts in education and manufacturing in Baltimore, gave the commencement address at Morehouse College, invited the President of Myanmar, eight immigration reform advocates and DREAMers themselves, and Gershwin Prize winner Carole King and friends to the White House and delivered a major counter-terrorism speech at the National Defense University.

West Wing Week: 05/17/13 or “We the Geeks”

This week, the President honored fallen officers and top cops, spoke on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, invited the Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom and of Turkey to the White House and kicked off a new Google+ Hangout series on science and technology. That’s May 10th through May 16th or “We the Geeks.”

West Wing Week: 05/03/13 or “Nobody Does It Better”

This week, President Obama spoke at the Planned Parenthood conference and the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, met with the King of Jordan, made five personnel announcements, celebrated the sciences and the Joining Forces Initiative and embarked on a trip to Mexico and Costa Rica.

West Wing Week: 04/26/13 or “This Stuff’s Really Cool”

This week, the Vice President traveled to Boston for a memorial for Officer Collier, and the President memorialized the victims of the West Texas explosion. The President also hosted the Amir of Qatar, the Teacher of the Year, the 3rd White House Science Fair, and visited Dallas with the First Lady for the dedication of the George W. Bush Presidential Center.
